Want a break but don’t want to break the bank? It’s actually pretty easy to getaway as long as you have the gas money. Here are a few ideas for fun on the cheap:
- Take a Road Trip: All for the cost of gas, hit the road. At every major highway or intersection, flip a coin to decide where to go. As long as you have your phone, you’ll never be completely lost and you will find places you have never been before. Take a look at some antiques, a state park or go for a picnic all in a new place.
- Camping: This is not my thing, I’m going to admit that, however, for many people it’s a great option. Camping can get expensive but if you keep it basic and simple, you’ll be just fine. Have fun with this, I’ll be in the hotel…
- Cross the State Line: If you border any nearby state, cross over and find something fun in a nearby town. For me personally, I can visit Arkansas or Missouri within one hour, if I drive a little further, I’ll hit Texas. There are tons of things to do in nearby cities in other states, hit the visitor’s bureau and your on your way!
A fun trip does not have to cost everything you have, think back to the college days. Plus, your kids just want to get away and do something different, they won’t remember how much you spend or don’t spend. Get out and have fun!
