When I was a kid, I played outside all day. If I wasn’t outside, I was inside reading or writing then spending a little time watching Full House and Saved by the Bell. That’s it. Most of the time, I was running around the neighborhood and riding my bike.
Fast forward to today, electronic devices have completely taken over. It did not take long for my husband and I to realize, if we did not intervene, our kids would not put down those devices. Enter an Electronic Device Contract. We actually created a contract for our kids outlining our expectations, rules, etc for their electronic devices. Our kids can only play one hour at a time with at least a one hour break of activity in between.
We have purposely set out to not allow electronic devices to takeover our family. That is why I am so excited to share with you the #UnPlugNPlay campaign from Killerspin. What is #UnPlugNPlay? Simple. It’s all about putting down the devices, grabbing the family and heading out to play.
A few weeks ago, we were given a Killerspin MyT Street table tennis table. This table is unbelievable. It can be used both indoors and outdoors and is easily moved. On sunny days, we pull the table outside and if it gets a little chilly, we keep it in the garage.
The best thing about ping pong is it is easy, fun and anyone can do it! No rules needed, nothing complicated, just grab the paddles, the ball and go!
Of course, we’re all into it. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy it, we play against one another and the kids. It’s fun and to be honest, even parents need to unplug and put the devices away for awhile.
We’re all about #UnPlugNPlay! It’s a great time for the family, it’s a great time to talk about our day, relieve a little stress and take a break…together. Plus, we’re active that means, we’re burning calories and having fun while doing it.
Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing our experience over the next few weeks and we’ll even be giving away a Killerspin Mini Table to one of our readers! In the meantime, checkout Killerspin and join in the #UnPlugNPlay campaign!
Disclosure: I was provided with a Killerspin MyT Street table tennis table for these posts and the upcoming giveaway. However, all of my opinions are 100% my own.
