November has been National Diabetes Awareness Month so I wanted to take a second and give you a helpful tip that really changed my life, are you ready for it? Drink water. Yep, that’s it. Years ago, I had to be at work before 5am, I told myself in order to do that, I needed caffeine and an insane amount of sugar. Turns out, I was hurting my body not helping it.
Years of drinking pop and eating unhealthy foods led to feeling sluggish, out of energy and flat out exhausted. I had a health scare that gave me a major wake up call. I kicked the caffeine and the high sugar, became gluten free and began to eat healthy. I have never looked back!
The most consumed sugary drinks are from kids ages 12-19 years old and guess what? They have likely learned that from us after all, we are the ones buying the drinks! It’s time to get healthy and your body will feel a thousand times better when you do! Water will boost your mood, ease digestion and help you maintain a healthy weight.
Don’t like water? Take it up a notch by infusing water with berries (I love this!), adding herbs, using sugar free flavor packets or even frozen ice cubes with fruit. Get creative and enjoy!
