Chores are a big deal in our house, we actually have them listed on a popsicle sticks and each child draws new chores every single week. The problem? Well, there seemed to be quite a bit of confusion when it came to how to complete the chore. And, every single child had a different opinion.
I’ve been working through this problem for awhile when I spotted a picture online of chore buckets and decided to make some myself in hopes of bringing a little clarity. Not only do these buckets come with all the right gear to complete the task but they also come with instructions.
Wow! These buckets have made a huge difference. Now, there is no question about what needs to be done and each child uses the instruction sheet as a checklist. I have one made for every major task including cleaning the bathrooms, mirrors, dusting and cleaning the kitchen.
These are easy to make and you can personalize them in any way you choose. We have 5 boys which means the bathroom clean up is a big deal. These buckets made chore time easy and now, the job is getting done!

I saw your chore bucket commercial on tv after watching Joyce Meyer (don’t you just love her??). I went to your website(s) to get help on doing these. Do you happen to have what you wrote on all the instruction cards? I could only read the bathroom one and it is written so well & with a nice ‘tone!’ I seem to come off grouchy tones when I’m trying to instruct .
