March is National Frozen Food Month which means for couponers, it’s a month of major savings. We’ve seen frozen food deals all month long and now it’s time to put some of those deals to use with this delicious smoothie made with frozen fruit! Now is also the time to go through your freezer and do a little spring cleaning!
I recently saw a smoothie recipe that looked delicious, I decided to give it a try but add my own little twist. I have a ton of frozen blueberries on hand so I definitely wanted to use those, I also substituted cow’s milk for rice milk since we have quite a few food allergies in our house. Blueberry & Mango Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Frozen Blueberries
2/3 Rice Milk (or any milk you prefer)
1 1/2 Frozen Mango Chunks
2/3 cup Orange Juice
Directions:
In a blender, mix the blueberries and milk. Once smooth, pour into your mason jar or glass. Then, mix the mango and the orange juice (to keep it clean looking, be sure to rinse out the blender first). Once it is well blended, pour the mixture on top of the blueberry mixture. There you have it, a yummy morning smoothie!

Shape Your Future participates in National Nutrition Month by encouraging Oklahomans to eat more nutritious foods. Poor nutrition causes serious negative health consequences, including obesity, heart disease, some cancers, stroke and diabetes. In fact, obesity-related deaths are increasing at an alarming rate, as more than 30 percent of adults and more than 14 percent of adolescents are obese in Oklahoma. Additionally, 10 percent of Oklahoma adults have diabetes, 6.5 percent of Oklahoma adults are pre-diabetic and heart disease still remains the number one killer of both men and women.
