Dear Money Saving Queen Readers,
Today, I wanted to take a moment to address what has been occurring behind the scenes these past few months.
In 2007, I began a business called Tulsa’s Coupon Queen. It began simply as an attempt to feed my family and help those who were also struggling. That business grew in leaps and bounds and eventually led to a partnership and a name change to 918 Coupon Queen. In 2009, an amazing second partnership occurred which brought on news segments and national TV appearances and the name of the company changed to Money Saving Queen.
In 2012, Money Saving Queen was bought out from the news station by a group of local investors and engaged in a new business plan. However, on September 16, 2013, two employees, 9 volunteers/contract labor workers and myself lost their jobs and a few of those investors took over and ran the company.
From that date until Friday, February 28, 2014, I have had no access or ability to update MoneySavingQueen.com or run any of its social media properties.
However, this past Friday, I (Sarah Roe) was able to purchase 100% of MoneySavingQueen.com and it’s properties, which will now be known as Money Saving Queen, LLC.
I hope that bit of business information helps to clear up some of the confusion. Although, I will honestly say to you, I still do not fully understand everything that has happened in the last six months.
I wanted to share something a bit more personal with you as I have thought and thought about this for quite some time. I could say a thousand things to you right now but in all honesty, what I want to say more than anything else is,
I am sorry.
I am sorry many of you have had no idea what had happened these last six months.
I am sorry for those of you who had faithfully followed this website and depended on it to save your families money every single month and it fell short.
I am sorry that I found myself prohibited from contacting many of you who booked workshops, events or other appearances during that time period.
I am sorry for those of you who asked questions but found no answers.
I am sorry for those of you who found yourselves banned and/or blocked from our forums or social media pages.
I am sorry that I made some of the business decisions that led to this problem.
I am sorry for the pain my own family suffered during this time of false accusations, financial loss and at times, embarrassment.
But mostly, I apologize for letting someone make a decision that you probably never even knew about. The slogan, “You will have plenty to eat” lived underneath our logo for years until a business partner made a decision to remove it. Out of all the bad decisions made over the last few years, that one was the worst.
The slogan of this company from the day it started was inspired by Joel 2:26, “You will have plenty to eat until you are full and you will praise the name of the Lord your God who has worked wonders for you.” The business I began was founded on the promise God made to us that “we will have plenty to eat.” Somewhere along the way, marketing, money and everything else got in the way.
For that, I apologize.
In the event my faith offends you, there are plenty of other coupon blogs and websites out there that just talk coupons, please feel free to read those.
I know how this business started and I know it is by God alone that I have been given a second chance. I won’t make the same mistakes twice. Please don’t misunderstand me, some days I will have a bad attitude, some days I will mess the whole thing up and some days I will say things I am not supposed to say because as it turns out, Christians are human beings and we all fail from time to time. But, I am making a commitment to do my best.
To the haters that have sought after me these many months….I know you thought you knocked me down for good, you thought you had me. Truth be told, you did knock me down and it hurt, but liars never win. Hate never wins. And as it turns out, I worship a God that does his best work in the valley.
There were times where I let the pain get the best of me, but I’ve spent six months getting my head on straight and my heart focused. What could have been considered a setback, God is going to use as a comeback.
I promise you today, things around here will never be the same. I will never be the same, the businesses I own will never be the same and from this day forward, I am committed to the plan God has for me and pray that this website and business blesses you and your family.
Thank you for the many e-mails, facebook comments and constant stream of support, I appreciate you more than words can express. And, a huge thanks to my family, “princesses” and those close friends that never left my side.
It is time for this website to get back to what it was built to do, to help you feed your families and encourage you in the hardest of financial circumstances. I pray you forgive me for the months of absence and I hope you’ll join me on the journey of saving money and spreading hope.
Thank you,
Sarah Roe
